La fuente is the outcome of a meaningful experience of sharing and learning with the dance group Oriki Tabalá in San Basilio de Palenque, Colombia. Taking the form of a video, this collaboration with Matthew Rytz explores the individual sense that Palenque dancers have regarding dance and tradition. It presents the singularity of voices and the multiplicity of views that emerge within an amazingly collective environment, one that values the histories of struggles of Afro-Colombians as well as their ancestral culture.
