A woman subjected by its environment, a spasmodic and almost agonizing struggle of a body that gradually seeks to reshape itself, a moment of contained intensity… Körper is tension and strength but it is also exposure. Presented for the first time at the Verda Utopio festival of Butoh in France, this piece emerged during the research and elaboration of Antikörper. Körper however, is not the shadow of Antikörper. Neither is its opposite. Preserving their uniqueness and autonomy, these pieces co-constitute each other; they co-form and feed each other as part of a broader work inspired by Butoh’s emphasis on pure performance.
